Not All Belts Are Built the Same
Most of Magnum’s machines are built with two types of conveyor belting; rubber for the rear conveyors and Mintex on the first conveyor.. Mintex belts are used on each of our harvesters to provide better grip and durability than traditional rubber belt on the first conveyor where the weight of the sod is much lighter. The rubber belting on the second conveyor holds up to the heavy weight as each big roll is being rolled up. Talking to a Magnum rep will help you find the right belting and make replacements much easier than tackling them on your own!
Replace Responsibly
Many farmers in our industry are used to maintaining their machines themselves to keep costs low and turnaround time quick. But opening up a harvester and replacing the entire conveyor belt yourself is no simple task. Take Care of Your Investment
After spending hours in the field, you deserve to head inside and rinse off the day. Well, so does your machine! Before you call it a day, we always recommend rinsing off your harvester, paying close attention to the belting. Taking care of your machine prevents premature rust and replacements. While sitting outside for a day or two won’t hurt your machine, weeks or months in the sun can permanently damage rubber belting. Keeping your harvester clean and protected against the elements limits the need for new conveyor belts, cutting blades, and other commonly replaced parts.
